This has to be one of the best cars I have been out in, and DRIVEN this year. If not the best! Many thanks to Aldous Voice for letting me borrow his car. He is well known in the Ferrari 'world' for his servicing, maintenance and diagnostic expertise -> aldousvoice.com/ <-
The Ferrari F430.. this is the type of car you'd typically 'hope' to see driving past Harrod's Knightsbridge - London, and hear the induction 'wail' that provokes muscular convulsions and momentary 'dystrophy' in everything she passes. I don't often use the word ''she'' to describe a car. In fact never. But this is a machine of beauty - a delicately sketched and inviting temptress who's appearance and gentle purr echoes 'pianissimo' and 'dolce'. Her seats are a silk cushion that lull you into a dream state of euphoria... but do not be fooled. Her temper at full throttle is an angry Beethoven. Moonlight Sonata 27#2 (3rd Movement) best describes the blend of Italian beauty - mated with a harrowing German ECU. Bosch know what they are doing, and this is evident as I climb the rev range from standstill to its crescendo! To be completely honest, being in the passenger seat was enough, and I don't often get a complete 'feel' being driven. Getting behind the wheel and putting this car through its paces definitely resonated. My hearing was still bad two days after driving this thing.. It is LOUD. (start up and 'blip' video attached) -> http://tinyurl.com/oxcbf2h <- The Chassis Firm but sweet. There is no bodyroll in a Super Car, they 'take' whatever you request with a pinch of salt. My driving style doesn't feel uncertain in this car and I could happily drive this like the Porsche and feel at home once the ignition has fired. The Body Perfection. This is an art piece. It is inviting and jaw-clenchingly beautiful. Everything about this car is sexy! I am in love. The Throttle What can I say? The V8 engine ''moved'' me. Well it didn't just move me - it ''removed'' the blood from my veins, and left me corpse-like during my time driving around. I think I had an out of body experience but cannot remember any of it. Driving this car at 100% throttle made me shout ''JESUS'', which entertained the people who stopped walking as I flew from one set of traffic lights to another! The Exhaust Haha! Yes God.. The note is almost melodic. Frederic Chopin would have understood Ferrari's decision when creating the exhaust pipes. Every man should experience a Ferrari in their lifetime. It is the natural progression for all car enthusiasts to have a experience in a prestige sports car. An evolutionary must. Whether you hire or get the chance to borrow such a vehicle - I suggest you do it, and quickly! I have had an amazing summer. I've also met some great people, made some new friends, and had some of the best drives EVER. Recently I've started a new project - Nicholas Lawrence //On Cars - and will hopefully have a YouTube Channel and Blog started for 2016. Enjoy the images! Nicholas Lawrence //ON CARS |
