Welcome to the latest addition to the ''//'' website. I have been working with two companies in Shenzhen China, taking an existing active speaker and giving it a better digital to analogue converter (DAC), Class D Amplifier, and an improved crossover to shape the best sound from these little speaker boxes.
These are wooden, not plastic which makes a massive difference when you crank up the volume.
I have been in love with the iLoud micro speakers for some time but whenever I recommend them people complain about the price. The iLoud currently cost 300 pounds (GBP) or as listed, 349€ on the official website.
I have created is something that a newbie beatmaker or professional can connect to their computer for an immersive experience that has surprised everyone who initially invested in the project when I set this up.

You will receive two small boxes, both equipped with a 3 and a half inch bass cone and 1 inch silk dome tweeter. The speakers sounded great during the initial testing, and my first pair ended up being sold to a DJ in the UK who wanted to use them when creating hardstyle beats and remixes for his gigs.
I have been quoted bass frequencies down to 50Hz which sounds ridiculous - but the iLoud micro drops to 55Hz (-3dB) utilizing a 3 inch bass cone. Technology has improved drastically in recent years.
These are front ported speaker which I prefer for linear bass distribution. Speakers with rear port openings for the lower frequencies tend to get muddied and can upset the sound when placed too close to a wall.
The amplifier, crossover, and 'DAC' are inside the speaker unit. The top right speaker has the on and off buttons plus main volume controls. I have them set higher than what I generally hear to make it easier to adjust from the main volume fader in Windows.

On the rear you have multiple connection ports. The shipped power supply is perfect for the amplifier, and I don't advise changing it for a more powerful unit. I suggest buying a US to UK or US to EU converter depending where you live. These cost less than 5 GBP including delivery on Amazon.
Once the speakers are connected to power you have the option of Digital Coaxial ''Optical'' input, 3.5mm (cable supplied), and for those who want to watch movies (recommended) you can connect your Television HDMI directly to the speakers.
It features HDMI 'Arc' which allows the speakers to be switched on and off via your TV controller. Whenever you grab your TV remote, Apple TV remote or Amazon Firestick, your speakers will fire up without having to use multiple controls.
When you have finished watching your favourite movies and shows simply turn off the Television and the speakers will power down automatically. This feature only works using HDMI, and could also be applied to a computer desk setup for convenience. In fact I might try HDMI but generally use the Optical input, also known as SPDIF.

They sound good either upright or side mounted on the desk. I tested both angles and prefer them on their side. I also noted zero vibration at high volume unlike the iLoud micro. Also to further isolate what is already a quality sound I would add some desk speaker stands then angle the tweeter towards my ears.
I love the iLoud micro speakers but they have now been replaced. For an ultra portable setup I stopped using the iLoud's and have a small USB soundbar that clips to the top of my tablet computer.

The speakers cost 180 pounds (GBP) including UK and EU delivery. They are a great reference speaker for several applications and as a self-proclaimed audiophile I recommend these to anybody wanting to get into music production on a budget, or are in the market for a nice speaker for listening at the computer desk.
The audio quality is insane... they are everything I expected from the guys in China who work in the electronic audio industry. This project is up and functioning, and I am really greatful to the team who helped make this possible.

If you are interested in buying a pair of these speakers I am always contactable on instagram or send an email. Online invoices are sent using SumUp which is a registered business payment system. The main link is at the top of this page. Shipped items are generally delivered within two weeks from mainland China.
