Welcome to the latest addition to the ''//'' website. I've been working with two companies based in Shenzhen China, taking an existing budget speaker and giving it a better digital to analogue converter (DAC), a Class D Amplifier, and an improved crossover to shape the best sound from the small wooden enclosures.
That's right I said wooden, not plastic and it does make a difference when you turn up the volume.
I have been in love with the iLoud micro speakers for some time but whenever I recommend them people complain about the price. The iLoud currently cost 300 pounds (GBP) or as listed, 349€ on the official website.
What I have created is something that the average bedroom DJ, beatmaker or even student can connect to their laptop or PC for an immersive experience that has surprised everyone who initially invested when I posted my plans to start this project on social media.

What you get is a 3.5" bass cone, coupled with a 1" silk dome tweeter. The speakers didn't sound too bad during initial testing but I understand the amplifier and use of crossover is vital when trying to emulate as close to a flat sound as possible. That said, I have been quoted bass frequencies down to 50Hz which sounds ridiculous - but let's not forget that the iLoud micro drops comfortably to 55Hz (-3dB) using a miniscule 3" bass cone.
These are front ported, and the amplifier, crossover, and DAC are inside the speaker unit. On top of the right speaker are the on and off plus main volume controls. I personally set them to a level that is 'higher' than what I generally hear, so I can control them up from my laptop from zero to VERY LOUD!

On the rear side you have multiple connectivity options. After attaching the power supply you have the possibility to use Digital Coaxial ''Optical'' input, the standard 3.5mm input (cable supplied) and for those who want to watch movies (recommended) you can connect your Television HDMI directly to the speakers.
It also has HDMI 'Arc' which means the power on/off and volume control will be managed by your television, or firestick controller. It ships with a US power adapter and I suggest buying a US to UK or US to EU converter depending on where you live. These cost less than 5 pounds (GBP) including delivery on Amazon.

They sound good either upright or side mounted on the desk. I tested both angles on my computer desk and preferred them on their side. I also noted zero vibration at higher volume outputs, unlike the iLoud micro, and to better isolate what is already a quality sound I would add some desk speaker stands to point the tweeter towards my ears.
Five pairs were initially sold via social media stories and I have had several enquiries since shipping them to friends and DJ's across the UK. I love my iLoud speakers but they will be replaced with these as soon as I return to England. I am currently working in Atlanta, helping at studio workshop/beat battle events and recording video footage that I edit and send out for a small fee. All of which is done using my phone - but that's another story for another day.
I wont buy a pair while I am still in America because of the box size and weight - unfortunately they wont fit in my suitcase but I can keep the iLoud's in there for travelling.

These speakers cost 150 pounds (GBP) including UK delivery. The price may increase over time or I will limit the sales to 100 units. Either way these are a great reference speaker for several applications and as a self-confessed audiophile I recommend these to anybody wanting to get into music production on a budget or are in the market for a nice speaker to place at their computer desk or next to their main television.
They are a bit of an oversized stocking filler but I can guarantee delivery by the 22st December if ordered today (Sunday 10th December 2023). As mentioned, I will be replacing my iLoud micro speakers with these as soon as I return to the UK in a month or so. The audio quality for the price is ridiculous.. but they are everything I expected from the guys in China who work in the electronic audio industry.

I have to thank my friends at Cubilux for making every idea possible. I ask for a variety of cables for music production and they have made everything without complaint! I wanted to see what they could do with my studio headphones, and they made a cable that not only improves the sound but also gives me their Hi-Res microphone that is perfect for podcasting, vlogs, and recently tested singing and recording on both my tablet and mobile phone.
